Is Lukewarm The Same As Being Complacent?

The question is, are you halfway seeking God and the other half doing your own thing to control your life because you trust in yourself more than in God? Giving lip service only?

When the Lord was addressing the people of the church in Laodacea … he said they were lukewarm. That represented a condition of the congregation that lacked both zeal and enthusiasm for the word… so much so that Jesus said he would rather they be hot or cold. So what does hot mean and what does cold mean? Ponder it. It felt right to see hot as being on fire with the Holy Spirit, and cold was lacking the desire to be in the church and not going at all. But is that what it means? Lukewarm hit me as being there but not really in to it… like daydreaming of other things, watching the clock, falling asleep, not really wanting to be there, etc.) You see, He was addressing church members not members of Baal or those who weren’t attending.

So you can’t say he was speaking of believers and non believers. These were God’s children who had grown into a state of being lukewarm. Like if your own child went to school and didn’t want to be there and was failing. It is still your child… but now you have a child that just doesn’t care about going to school at the moment. So what do you say to that child?

In Isaiah the Lord spoke also of these lukewarm ones, “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.” (Isaiah 29:13).

These were His called out ones that had gotten into a state of some form of lacking in heart felt desire to praise the Lord and serve Him. There are many interpretations of this state of lacking. But it boils down to somewhere along the line a person lost the zeal for serving God and learning more about His will for their life. It is a sign that they are wandering off into the world and what it has to offer because that has become more important. That is very dangerous.

The next verses in Isaiah 29:14 thru 16 are the same wake up call as Jesus spoke in Revelation. “Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?  Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

So when we read the entire chapter in Isaiah we see there is a time of trouble coming to the Lukewarm ones… and all the people. But the ones who are strong in the Lord are prepared and those who are out there doing their own thing are not. The scriptures go on to say that through this time the deaf shall hear the words of the book and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. So there is a hope for many to return to the Lord with good heart and desire to see and hear.

The meek also, God says shall increase their joy in the Lord and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. And the good news is that at the end of this time… Isaiah 29:20-21 says, “For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.”

So all those who are out there doing the work for wicked men and all the evil lawlessness we are watching today… all of that was prophecied to come. Just like it is right now! And many of the luke warm ones are finding themselves making deals, bargaining… figuring out how to make money off of someone elses fears, and or just making a buck off of tragedy. We’ve been talking about uncovering all of the people who raise money for foundations that actually don’t help people other than themselves. That is taking place on all sorts of levels… people are funding their own demise, but some will turn away from the wickedness and some will continue and not be ashamed of anything they do that is not of God’s commands.

This is where we are right now. But… there is a light at the end of this separating the wheat from the tares…. Isaiah 29:22 -24 says, “Therefore thus saith the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.  But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel. Note: The house of Jacob are the tribes, and the house of Joseph are the gentiles… in Ezekiel the two sticks come together.

And here it is, verse 24 states, “They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

It appears this is where we are today!

I am really seeing the Lukewarm thing that Jesus spoke to the Apostle John about on a whole different level.

Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”

In the midst of all the storm, all the anger, rage, attacks on all humanity… the greed, lust, and all that goes with Babylon The Great…in all of that, one thing is certain – BABYLON THE GREAT FALLS!

The call for God’s people to come out from her is ringing out. And those who have eyes to see and ears to hear must do as it says in Jude “And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”

We must prepare to open our hearts to embrace even the ones who have done very bad unspeakable things when they truly repent….for their sins are no greater than any sins that we were forgiven for. God has died for all who repent with a sincere heart and accept His Son as their redemptive Savior. Are we prepared for this part of our task? To love them, welcome and embrace as the Lord did for us? Prepare now as this may be the hardest preparation of all. But, it is the commandment of God to love your neighbor as yourself and forgive them as we were forgiven. We all want the same forgiveness when we are truly heartfelt sorry. This is not to say to be sheep and not defend yourself, nor to stand there and let wickedness harm you. This is to say forgive them for they know not what they do. And when they repent and need help, help them.

So that is the message to ponder for now. Prepare for a big wave of eye opening and hearing and prepare to show others the way. This is going to be one of the hardest battles to discern and the only way to stay calm and clear headed is with faith in the Lord and calling on the Holy Spirit to teach wisdom, give discernment, lead, guide, strengthen and comfort you. We cannot cherry pick which commands we will or will not keep. Jesus broke them down into two… to love God with all your heart, mind, strength and soul and to love your neighbor as yourself.

To be complacent or lukewarm is not an option. Ignoring everything is also not an option. Keep your head on a swivel and pray unceasing. God will fight for you, your job is to stand firm in your faith and not let the lies and psyops mess with your mind, weaken your faith or harden your heart. Stay alert to the lies and listen to the Holy Spirit. We are fighting both the flesh and the demonic realm of spiritual warfare. Remember, greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. KNOW THAT!
