  1. People all over the world have been trained to seek the approval of the people in charge.

It is so sad to me as I watch people afraid to stand up for anything. We are ruled by the LCD (Lowest Common Denominator).

Many of the people in charge are truly stupid and the people they rule over are cowards seeking crumbs of approval.

In 4th grade, I raised my hand and said, “The building is on fire.” The teacher told me it was not true and to be quiet. A few minutes later, the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the building. There had to be other children in the class who could see the same smoke coming out of the building that I saw when I looked out the window and not one would back me up.

I learned over the years to stand alone. If you are waiting to gather support before you stand up, you will probably never stand up.

Stand up. Speak up and be counted.

    1. I hear you and just…try telling a family member that Christmas is a pagan holiday. Ouche…..boom. They make it sound like I blasphemed the Lord…that is how traditions of men affect people. And then again, be careful where you say the earth is a circle not a spinning ball. As I look back on my entire life experiences…I shared with my grandson how I see now that my entire life was a lesson to stand up for what I believed was right…my dad introduced me to someone in town when I was around 10 years old as, “This is Dianne. She is the martyr in the family.” I didn’t know what that was until around a year or so later. He pinned that on me because I would never admit to doing something I did not do no matter how badly I was being punished. And we got some physical punishments. I think he knew that half the time my sister was blaming me falsely. Thus he said it. Now I only heard him say that once. After I was married, family was all around and my sister was laughing and telling stories of how she used to always get me in trouble growing up. It was then my father said, It looks like I was correcting the wrong one.

But, as I look back…that and many other things prepared me for almost any situation. Number one…trust no one…but God. Number two… never be afraid to stand up for what is right and true. Number 3 Think quick on your feet. Number 4 Never argue with crazy people. Number 5 Never let your enemy know what you are thinking let alone what you are doing. Number 6 Make your personal goals and life plans private between you and God, no one else needs to know. Number 7 Always put yourself in the other persons shoes and be kind to everyone. You never know what they’ve been through. Number 9 God sees all things and lifts you up always. Number 10 Always be your own leader and let God guide you the way to go. Even when everyone else is headed in the opposite direction. If it isn’t good or doesn’t feel right do not follow. I will stop there. I could go on and on and on. Smile.

      1. Thank you for your list, Dianne. Your number 4 hits home with me–as recently as a few weeks ago. I was in a handicapped parking space, just two where I was with that no parking space in beween. In an effort to make me move, a woman drove into the space not to be parked in, angling her front wheels just inches from my car. Then she got out of her car and dared me to hit her car. She was itching for an altercation. I just called the police. I also thought a
bit like Tong might have: This
        woman nuts.

  2. God bless this Dad, volunteering to stand, unarmed, in front of his daughter’s school, just to give other parents some comfort and assurance. And now other parents are volunteering to do the same —

    • A picture of a father in Central Texas standing guard at his daughter’s elementary school where his wife also works has gone viral on social media in the wake of this week’s mass shooting incident in Uvalde.
    • “I said I would just be out there unarmed to let people know that I’m watching. Let the parents have a little bit of relief.”
