On Fire, You’re Fired, Hell Fire, Fired Up, Through The Fire… Then Comes The Gold! And not always in that order… but none the less the only gold worth gaining is the Gold tried in the fire by following the way of the Lord!
Jesus said to the Lukewarm Church… the one where it was “not my problem” and they were doing just fine and thought they were rich and needed nothing but to mind their own business. The Lord had something special to say to them. He said, “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Rev. 3: 15-16
Well that’s a rather shocking scripture but it makes one take a look inside and ask a few questions. Or it should. One can look at this many ways. But the Lord went on and gave more clarification into that way of feeling, thinking and doing and what He thought of that mindset.
“17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see.”
To me he was pointing out that they had grown complacent and went about living their own lives and had no clue that their see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil was in itself an evil. To be like that is definitely not loving thy neighbor as thyself and goes into the category of “depart from me I never knew you.” Like when the Lord said in Matthew 25 in the parable of the separation of the sheep and the goats.
Jesus explained when the Son of man comes in his glory and the holy angels with him and he is seated on his throne of glory and all nations are gathered before him, how he will separate the sheep from the goats. He blesses the sheep on his right side for they inherit the kingdom and he says to them…
“I hungered and you gave me meat, thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you took me in, naked and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me. And the sheep said when did we do all these things for you? And the Lord answered them- “Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Then he says to the goats on the left side, “Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I hungered, and you gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t cloth me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.” And they asked when did we see you and not do those things for you and he shall answer them, “Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.” He said these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
What do you believe that message means? What was he saying to the church at Laodicea? How ought we to be, even in these terrible times?

James Woods home was passed over. Amen. After watching the blazing inferno burning his neighborhood after he evacuated, many left-wing trolls blasted him on social media mocking his well-deserved loss and cheering all sorts of negative remarks. The trolls had fun with all their horrible ‘you deserve it’ remarks. Well, today Woods made it back to his property expecting to see what was left, and it was virtually standing with only smoke damage. he showed videos of his next-door neighbors who are burned to the ground, and you know he had to have been in awesome wonder at how God spared his home. Now that is a sign that God does pass over those who follow him! What say you?

Woods applauds Robert Trinkkeller as a hero, and rightfully so for he stayed behind to ensure the safety of a 94 year old man. He was motivated by a call from James Woods to check on the elderly neighbor’s safety when Woods couldn’t return due to police barricades.

If you are blessed to have such wonderful neighbors, you are luckier than you know.”
I thought this was the bigger story of the day, where people care about others instead of plotting and planning how to eliminate their fellow man. What are your thoughts on this?

This scripture flies in the face of the false distorted Calvinist doctrine “once saved always saved”. Many Christians refuse to accept a convicting word from the Lord or message and lull themselves back to slumber because they were taught that when you receive Christ once (such as come to the altar at age 12 or raise your hand in service when there is a salvation call) that is your fire insurance against hell for all time. Well, Jesus does promise to keep those who continuously abide in Him. He promises no one will be able to pluck you out of His hand. And He said that nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Jn 15:4&5 Jn 10:28-30 Rom 8:31-39 But the misunderstanding and misuse of these and other passages has to do with LIFE. The life of God in us at salvation must be nurtured by the Word, sustained by His Holy Spirit, th3e Living Water, not quenched and allowed to weaken, atrophy and die. It is living. It is His life in us not our own. Galatians 5 makes it clear to live in/obey the old fallen nature of our flesh rather than live in/obey the new nature of His Spirit in us is death. The author is making this point by her reference to DO/DEW and pressing/running the race. It is a life. It is a relationship. It is not a construct, contract, piece of paper, letter of the law without any heart felt commitment behind it anymore than marriage is only a piece of paper rather than a loving commitment. May the Lord bless alal those who are hungering at this hour for a deeper elationship with Jesus Christ. It is the difference between a wonderful love relationship with your husband whom you can trust and depend on and being in bondage to a cheating spouse.

I believe we would be more at peace with ourselves and with each other if we were more like Robert who was not afraid to help the elderly gentleman during the fire.
The illuminated picture looks like a a brain split into two parts. The red side is for Republicans and the blue side is for Democrats. They appear to be separate pieces, but actually they are one.

Interesting interpretation of that mirror image, Bernadette. I had a similar thought. Plus, I see on the ladder (we are climbing Jacob’s ladder song comes to mind and scripture reference for Jacob’s vision in Gen 28) that it appears to be Christ or a man at the bottom, the holy mother/woman figure in the middle holding the key, and some female deity at the very top. The Mother Mary doctrine of the Catholic Church holds that Mary intercedes for us peasants and that she is the one who does this on our behalf to Jesus.
