I Have A Question?

Why is it that our senators and congress persons in office always send emails to the people  campaigning for money to vote on a problem that needs voted on?

I receive emails all the time from Senators and Congress persons that say things like “Obama is working at passing a bill that will restrict your right to bla, bla, bla.  We need your help to stop him from doing bla, bla, bla. Please help us to stop this from becoming a bill.  You can help by sending a donation to_____  please check below and thank you for helping us stop this bla, bla, bla. (there are boxes to check for your most appreciated donation and a fill in the blank for a more sizable one).

Always ending with thanking you for helping them make this happen and where to put your credit card info etc. (This is never ending for sometimes they send an email thanking me for helping to fend off the last bill and now they need my help again bla, bla, bla. Even though I never sent any money.)

I do not know why we need to send money to senators and congress persons to simply do their job and vote against the thing they seem to need money to do?

Is there something other than greed that I am not understanding here?  After all, I thought they had super packs to do propaganda ads and things to  encourage voter participation, but I never knew they had to have money to make a decision of common sense for their constituents while they sat in the seat that casts the vote.

What am I not getting here?
