26 thoughts on “Does It Really Matter What Bible Translation You Use?

  1. Dianne,
I began reading “a Bible” approximately 10 months ago from a Bible app on the internet that someone suggested to me. I’ve been following you longer than that. After reading this, I’m wondering if my readings are watered down and in some aspects not truthful. Would you be willing to suggest a Bible that I can purchase that is true to what you are describing in this blog PLEASE?? I would greatly appreciate it. I really seek the truth !
    Thank you!!!!!!!!

    1. I have always read the New King James and the King James… when I learned of the Greek Lexicon and that the King James was derived from the Greek Translation I read the Greek translations. I found that revealing of some things different. As I went along I would refer to the Hebrew and the Greek translations…as KJV as I now call Shakespheare…was not the way Yeshua spoke. He did not say…verily, verily I say unto you…nor did he say Thou art, He just didn’t talk that way. I have also read other versions and they are watered down….I have shelves of Bibles …. all types…and the commentaries are varied. I ignore commentaries only read them now to see what they are doing to the scriptures to mislead…or their opinions. I let the Holy Spirit interpret for me.

What I am finding now…is that I use the KJV because that is what most read from…and understand….I am now wearing that not as a full garment but as a sweater. My garments have been Greek and Hebrew Translations for years and years…but now I am seeing the Aramaic as the correct translation in the Peshitta. The Hebrew language in Judea at the time of our Lord was Aramaic. It was a dialect that contained Aram…Syrian….and Hebrew. Jesus spoke in Aramaic and so that translation is the one that I am now using. You can understand the truths from that … and see the differences in the King James which was translated from the many bibles that were used. That were translated from Aramaic into Greek, into Latin, into English. Into a host of other translations in English.

I am now using the Aramaic and the King James Bible…and making comparisons. Here is an online Aramiac translation called the Peshitta. Genesis 1 Peshitta Holy Bible Translated (biblehub.com)

      1. I really appreciate you giving me this information. It means a lot! Thank you so much!

        1. And that is not to say, the Word of God is not in the King James…not at all. That good version showed me the truth, the way and the light….by reading with the Holy Spirit. When I read on my own, without the Holy Spirit guiding me, regardless of what translation it is…it was always hard to understand…many things were missed as I read the book without seeing the many things within a verse. So do not think I am saying there is only one book…the Word is living…and the Holy Spirit is the key to the truth…in all you see, do…think, feel and choose.

  2. I wrote alot under the Templars comment. I will say to the author of this article-a spiritual person with the Holy Spirit – a person with the same heart as mine. We must be the translators- we have the tools – it should never be 1 person. I have an idea – write back if anyone is interested.

    1. Amen. It is better with more than one. Tammi, a member here has been the motivation for these last articles…with her visions that came for the first time in her life to have one of that nature.

Would like to hear your idea. I’m the author. Smile.

  3. Indeed, translations matter. King James I, head of the Anglican Church, was so intent on making “church” a permanent fixture to support the institutional concept that he instructed the translators not to use the word “congregation” as in earlier translations. (Rule #3) It is amazing how much confusion is generated and how difficult it becomes to answer questions with the “ecclesiastical” institutional power word.

One example of “getting to what God actually said” is illustrated by a friend and brother in Jesus, Edward Fudge, a student of the Greek and Hebrew languages. He discovered a major error about the future of the wicked. Do they burn forever conscious in hell or are they eventually destroyed? Numerous scholars of the world did their own re-study of the subject and decided Fudge was correct. His book, The Fire That Consumes was published in 1982. Eventually, his story was made into a movie, Hell and Mr. Fudge.

    1. I too have seen the second death in the word itself. Revelation 20:6 “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” King James Version (KJV)

    1. Thank you Frank. I also found a while back that the Aramaic was considered a Hebrew language and those of the day spoke it. It was a combination of Syrian and Hebrew. Aram was the name for Syria at that time….and with the captivity of Babylon and the scattering…a new dialec was formed and it was later called Aramaic. Over time it was accepted as Hebrew dialec. The original Hebrew and Aramaic were the two primary languages spoken. The masses of the people spoke Aramaic.

  4. Dianne,
I could never thank you enough for your hard work and diligence. This post and the last has fired up my spirit….again!
GOD reminded me (I never forgot but dots being connected with all you have been writing?) of some things which He revealed to me.
In Sept., 1991 when I was visiting in a rural place, I stood in a pasture which had a few deep ravines. As I was there by the edge of one, suddenly I was taken up in a vision. I was quite awake and yet as I was drawn above myself, I looked down and saw myself praying in the spirit.
I then went back but remained in the spirit. I “saw” this ravine widen and getting deeper. As I looked to my right I saw movement. All sorts of…beings, like orcs and such rushing off to my left. As I looked to the left, I saw two huge iron gates which slowly began to open. As they did, a thick smoke began to billow outward. Then I was instructed to lift high a long sword which suddenly appeared in my right hand. I obeyed and lifted it high! When I did there was a blinding light that came in a flash! Then just as that happened, I saw hundreds… thousands of those various beings fall! Some were cut up, some dropped dead and some were thrown down. That was the end.
Why am I led to share? I am not certain but I believe it has to do with the “Light of God” being loosed! Demons of hell will be destroyed and will not even be able to return from where they came!

    1. As I read that my mind went to the Sword of the Lord which is the Word of God…..and the blinding light of coming to the knowledge of the truth of the Light of God. The truth shall set us all free and bring us closer to God and all He has planned for us….indeed His Kingdom Is Coming! No matter what the world says…God’s Truth Shall Ring Out!

      1. Exactly! All this time I have wondered about this bright, blinding light and the destruction of those demons. Now it is making more spiritual sense to me.

  5. You say Jesus and Mary Magdalene were like Adam and Eve, an intimate couple, right? He spoke against fornication which by definition is having sex outside of marriage. Are you saying they were married? Where does it say that in the translation you espouse? I noticed no one thought it was odd in the previous comments. When I was in the New Age Community they taught that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were an item or maybe even married, I don’t remember which. It didn’t set well then either. Please show me the scriptures that say they were married and I will search it out. I want the truth like everyone else. Thanks.

    1. That is coming. And it has been filtered here and there. It is our Bibles if we will see it and here it. I am showing things as I am being led to show them. So much has been hidden and lied about. I ask you a question…how can the Royal Lineage of David from Adam carry on if it was destroyed and died out? How can the promises given to Ephraim and Mannesah as heirs to the birthright by Jacob be fulfilled if it was ended?

        1. I just completed another that has clues…I believe the one I am now working on will have a segway into it…or it will be in the one after that. This is a lot to lay out in order to understand the who, how, when, where and why it was hidden. But, the last in the series will show the Bible and where, who, what, why, and how of it all. It is in our own Words. There was promised a union between Judah and Benjamin for the ultimate Kingship. And since Jesus is of the tribe of Judah…it leaves a Benjamin…Magdalena who is the tower or Queen of the Tribe. If you haven’t read the blogs leading up to this one… go back and you will see the way it is being presented.

  6. Dianne, you have inspired me to read many of the apocryphal books recently, as you’ve been writing about them!! I have compilations of New and Old Testament books I’ve had for a few years and have read some of them!! In my New Testament book, the gospel of Bartholomew is right after Mary Magdalene, so I read that as well right after!! I’ve read Thomas, the Holy 12, Nicodemus, Peter and Bartholomew (all classified as gospels), also there are many acts of apostles in my book, of which I’ve read a few, and also there are apocalypse writings from Peter, Paul and Thomas!! From what I’ve found, all these writings Parallel our current 66 book canon but with FAR more detail which seems highly possible to be accurate!! I have Old and New Testament apocryphal compilation writing’s found on Amazon a few years ago, they are called (Ultimate Apocrypha Collection) Compiled and formatted by Derek A Shaver, for anyone who is seeking large compilations of Apocryphal books!! Thank you for another Great article Dianne, it seems like my Synapses started firing more efficiently like they were a few years ago, since you’ve been writing about these Apocryphal writings which are considered Taboo in most circles!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

  7. Dianne, excellent point about translations of the Bible. The verse you cited above, Joshua 24:15, has a completely different meaning regarding the flood, in other modern translations. The NASB (which I have frequently used if it more simply expresses a concept for sharing with people), says in verse 14 — “the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt” and in verse 15 — “the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River

I went to another version, the New English Translation (NET), to try to see what the “River” was (written with a capital R). That translation says in verse 14 — “Put aside the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates and in Egypt” and it says in verse 15 — “the gods whom your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates …”

So, “the other side of the flood” in the KJV has become, “beyond the Euprates” as if trying to diminish the significance of the flood of Noah’s day, and point to a river instead. I will defer to the KJV more regularly now, and will be studying these new books, Enoch, Mary, Thomas, Phillip and the others. Appreciate the link above for the Aramaic into English (Peshitta).

To the translators of the different versions of the Bible over all these years, the mildest quote I can think of is from the old TV series “I Love Lucy” where Ricky Ricardo often said, “Lucy, you got some ‘splainin’ to do!”

Thank you for this in-depth article today, including a comment above which really resounded loudly with me — “It is this process where the one you serve connects with you.”

  8. We all have the Holy Spirit and haven’t been taught how to use the spiritual gifts that we all have been given. I have found that, with intense training and focus, I can hone my spiritual gifts. We all have these gifts but we have to ask God to show them to us. We have been spiritually babbled so to speak. For me, everything changed when I prayed to be given the eyes to see and the wisdom to understand what I was shown. And then, once I discovered these gifts, I had to be shown how to use them. At first it was so bewildering that I could barely process anything. With practice I began to see everything that has been right in front of me all along! I always had these gifts but I didn’t know how to see them. And, with practice, I have found that when connecting to God’s Light I can learn how to understand these amazing gifts.

    1 Corinthians 2
6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.  7No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.  8None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” [b] — the things God has prepared for those who love him—
10these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.  12What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.  13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. [c]  14The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.  15The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,  16for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” [d] But we have the mind of Christ.

  9. Plenty to “see” – through our Spiritual eyes 👀 and of our God created free will to discern His Truth as originally intended, even though we are not currently “as originally intended” – due to our ‘fall.’
And, in Luke 10:25-28, as Jesus asked the expert in the law the question: “how do you read / interpret it?”; it is for us to artfully apply the original meaning of the letters as they have been formed into words.🧐👌🏼
Finally for this comment, as I have heard it communicated: the Holy Spirit in me is as pure as the Holy Spirit in you.
The difference in us is how we individually ‘allow’ Him to weave / connect due to the relative hardness of our hearts.
    🙏🏼❤️🎼🎶⛓🦴⛓✍️🗽😎

  10. Father God.. thank you for truth and setting us free from knowing your truth… help us to serve you and thank you for your gentle but firm guide by your Holy Spirit..

  11. You do very good work Dianne. Indeed you don’t sleep much but I do OK with 5 hours per day. I probably have 15 plus Bibles in this old house but lately I have been using the Douay Rheims. Sometimes the Old English brings some insights as it is the supposed to be the one the “Jesuits” use. Good and bad issues. Another tool I use is the Oxford English Dictionary (OED). I am still trying to figure out if it was “fiddled” with by the Dark side i.e. the definitions of Tartaria and it’s derivatives. Thanks for your work and I often link to your articles on my site: https://thanatopianinstitute.wordpress.com/

  12. Wow wow wow. Amazing… Simply amazing. So much to unlearn and so much to learn!
