Does It Really Matter What Bible Translation You Use?

YES IT MATTERS!

I’ve heard people ask- Doesn’t it all mean the same thing? The answer to that is a big fat NO!

First and foremost… how the original word was translated is the key to understanding what the original written word even was.

When people fill in the blanks and shove words in to suit their purpose we lose the original intent of the meaning. Jesus spoke in Aramaic, and so did most of the people throughout Judea. NO ONE AT THAT TIME EVER SPOKE ENGLISH LIKE SHAKESPHERE. THE ENGISH DIALECT WAS NOT EVEN ESTABLISHED AT THE TIME OF JESUS.

That is not to say that the Bible is not a divinely inspired word, for it is a precious book and the Holy Spirit will help you discern the meanings and the way to go. The points I make in this work is to show the way to the hidden truths that have been watered down by both well meaning translators and those crept in changing things by design…such as interpretations which are easily done with deciding what is meant and choosing the word of one person or a committee to decide for all to use as the correct one.

When the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, they were written in Hebrew. These were not easily mistranslated, for they were ancient and matched the books that have been retained by the Jewish Community. Therefore we have a multitude of interpretations of what the prophets really meant. This has been a subtle and sly bone of contention.

The Aramaic language is a Semitic language closely related to Hebrew. Originally this language is of the Aramaeans, it was used, in many dialectical forms, in Mesopotamia and Syria before 1000 B.C.  Later it became the lingua franca of the Middle East. Aram is the Hebrew word for ancient Syria. Aramaic survived the fall of Nineveh (612 B.C.) and Babylon (539 B.C.) and remained the official language of the Persian Empire (539-337 B.C.). Before the Christian era, Aramaic had become the language of the Jews in Palestine. Jesus preached in Aramaic, and parts of the Old Testament and much of the rabbinical literature were written in Aramaic language.

So it is important to check the Shakespeare and see through a lexicon what word was used. The Aramaic was translated first into Greek. So if you are unable to find an Aramaic lexicon, use the Greek Lexicon. Many idioms have been translated and the real meaning lost. We are on a search for truth. So in seeking…we must go to the original language and a true translation.

Let it be known, Aramaic is Yeshua’s (Jesus’s) language. Jesus (Ιησούς) in Aramaic was Yeshua ישוע. Many people get hung up on not using the correct pronounciation…  I haven’t in the past but my eyes are looking at things more critically lately. My biggest pet peeve has been on misinterpretations. Yet, most all of our Bibles have been watered down and had some words added, changed, and omitted. In some books entire paragraphs that are in the Greek Translation have been removed in the King James Version.

If we are truly seeking the truth, we should go to the original language and see what was originally said. But if we were to read “Eli Eli lema sabachthani”. We would be going….huh? So we do need a translator…but we need a correct translator. Get it all correct…not just the name.   Remember Jesus translated in Aramaic is Yeshua. Yeshua translated into English is Jesus. Just one word?  It is time to seek the truth of what was spoken in every scripture, not just the name, if we want to find the truth.

So what does the Aramaic words “Eli Eli lema sabachthani” mean?

Jesus spoke Northern Aramaic, which in the King James Version is called Hebrew.

The original Aramaic words are: Eli, Eli, lmana shbakthani meaning, “My God, my God, for this [cause or purpose] was I spared or kept.”

The Greek words in translation as given are “Eli, Eli, lama (there is no word like “lama” in Aramaic—should be, lmana.) sabachthani (there is no word like sabachthani in Aramaic—should be, shbakthani.)” The words in the original are: “Eli, Eli, lmana shbakthani.” This is to say, “It is my destiny to die this kind of death.” It does not mean what the King James translators give, nor is there anything in the tone of the words to indicate an appeal for help, as implied by expositors. The Jews simply thought he was calling on Elijah, for Elia is the Aramaic for Elijah. Read: Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani – Ancient Scrolls Online

Dr. George Lamsa teaches the importance of correct translation from Aramaic into English in the video above. He points out how a word like Maran-atha is actually Maran – etha  which means Our lord has come…not our lord is coming as in Maranatha.  We were to go and spread the  gospel, which means “The Good News “which is “He has risen”. The same that is stated in the four gospels.

The message is he has risen…he has come. And it always was.

In the Peshitta there is an extra verse that the Greeks did not catch or transcribe. that is in Matthew 28:18 “As My Father has sent Me, so I send you.”

When we begin to read in the language of what the Lord taught, the book of Thomas, Philip, and Mary of Magdalene take on a similar tone as we find they taught the same teachings as our Lord and some were shown in visions more indepth teachings for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see it.

In the link below is an online translation of the New Testament from Aramaic into English. Each word is shown in its original writing and what the original word meant. And how it is to be accurately read without adding to and taking away from it. There are also commentary by the translator. I always like to read the word and take it directly to the Holy Spirit to be shown what it means.  That is how I do it. Depending on who you are reading, it can be misleading to gently guide you into their way of thinking. So I am not saying not to read the commentary, I am just telling you to take all things before the spirit. When you do that first, and then read the commentary…you will know if the interpretation is true or where it is off. But, each are of their own free will to do as they decide.

For an example, if you are reading a Darby Disposation based commentary, you will read their interpretation of the words in their comment. They will persuade you to see the dispensations of their inserted time slots.  So all things are to be taken to the Holy Spirit to be discerned.

References to Mary Magdalene occur only in the Gnostic Gospels, of which ancient Coptic scrolls were found in Nag Hammadi in 1945 and in other sites in Egypt. In these texts it is confirmed that Mary Magdalene was an intimate companion of Jesus. Companion also means help meet.

Genesis 2:18 KJV: “The Lord, after creating Adam, saw that he was alone in the garden, and declared, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”

The Gospel of Philip says: “There were three who walked with the Lord at all times: Mary his mother, her sister, and Magdalene, the one who is called his companion.” Mary Magdalene is described in this Gnostic gospel found at Nag Hammadi as having aroused the jealousy of the Apostles because she was the close companion or “consort” (Help Meet same word as Eve was to Adam) of the Lord, who often kissed her on the mouth.

It is clear from the four Gospels that Mary of Magdalena had a special title among the disciples and the people of the time. She was the first person to see and speak to Jesus when he rose from the dead, having hurried to his tomb at first light to perform embalming rites for his dead body. She was the first one to share the good news that He has risen. There are seven lists in the four Gospels that name the women who accompanied Jesus. In six of the seven, the name of Mary of Magdalena is given first–ahead of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and ahead of the other women mentioned. The Gospel writers, beginning with Mark, are most likely reflecting the status of the Magdalena in the Christian community–that of the Tower of the Tribe of Benjamin.

Our battle is against the same dark principalities and powers which led men astray before the flood! Joshua Chapter 24 tells us we battle the same dark side that led Adam and Eve into the darkness of the tree of good and evil. Now we have access to the way of the light, that in our death and ressurection shall return us to our former image of God that we once had in the Garden of Paradise… The light body as was seen by some disciples at the Mount of Transfiguration. Yeshua is the key to the light of God – but each must choose who they shall serve! Yeshua has shown us the way…follow the way of the Lord!

It has been the agreement of Christians for nearly two thousand years that Yeshua (Jesus) was an earthen vessel filled with the Spirit of God as one with the Father, and the only begotten Son of God. He had a message of how to be one with the Father. That message was taught in parables so only those who had eyes to see would see and only those who had ears to hear would hear. He did not want any who worked in darkness to know and use his teachings to enter into that light. He also did not want those who were of demonic darkness to know he was of the light. The ruler of this world was already trying to end his ministry and destroy him at every turn.  The dark side was truly in a heated spiritual warfare with the light of God and they could not win.

The only way the people were able to crucify Him was by the will of Yeshua (Jesus) to obey the will of the Father and serve His purpose. Mortal man would have gasped and fallen over at God’s will to do it.  Which He and the Father are One.

Jesus was gifted with a powerful charisma, his energy radiated out to the crowds. He was vibrating one with the Lord and people could feel his presence as a great one.  His presence was so great the dark ones who hated him did not know how to approach him. Jesus had power over the demons and cast them out of the people directly. He didn’t need herbs to heal them he had the ability to touch them and put their entire bodies back into balance instantly casting out anything that was not of light of the Father.

THE GIFT OF A VISION…. JUST APPEARING…

One of our blog members, Tammi, had a vision which preempted this series of blogs on the Keys to the Kingdom. Tammi had a vision where in it there was an  earthen vessel, lying on the ground and the lid of the earthen vessel … was off to the side, on the ground, with the top facing up. The urn was open. In the vision a key was known to be inside the vessel, although not visible in the vision. It was a knowing. She knew in her vision there was a key within the earthen vessel. There was also a door with an old metal lock that had a key hole.

The type of keyhole was one that used an old fashioned key…and ancient key lock. The metal around the keyhole was scratched up and appeared to be ancient letters, but not knowing the language it was described best as scratches  fit together in different directions and knew that these letters meant words.  Through the key hole was a bright, bright, shining light bursting through it.

The vision showed the urn was opened, there was an unseen key that would fit into the keyhole and open the door to the light. The person knew intuitively that the key would open up the door into the heavenly realm. But wondered what the key looked like. Were the scratches in the door plate the original languages the Bible was written in? Like Hebrew and Aramaic?

Aramaic writing.

It appears that she was shown a great vision relating to seeking, finding and coming to the Father as one… (the all of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

Free Will is a process, you choose the key to the light or stay in darkness.

This started out as an excited journey to figure out more and led to all of us taking it together to find the Key…which is the truth that we seek.

And here we are today … the journey continues.

From Enoch to Noah to Moses, Paul, etc., God has appeared to the person through visions, dreams, and miraculous knowings and marvelous gifts. It is said in the King James Version Exodus Chapter 3 that Moses saw God on Mt. Horeb in the fire of a burning bush. God appeared to him in the vision in the fire. Moses merely saw the burning bush and went to see what it was out of curiosity. He wasn’t calling on God. God chose to call on Moses. This happens through a process of becoming one with the all… and receiving the message directly from God. It is a process that connects to our sixth sense or God sense through our Pineal Gland. Or so that is our present knowledge of it.

In Acts 9:15 the Lord tells Ananias Saul is a Chosen Vessel….chosen… which thomas had said the Lord said in Thomas 23 (23) Jesus said, “I shall choose you, one out of a thousand, and two out of ten thousand, and they shall stand as a single one.”

And in our Bible it is written the Lord said many are called but few are chosen. Now I discussed this with my son and he got a bit edgy believing that I was replacing the call to salvation with a new concept of you must be chosen. That is not what this “being called versus being chosen” is about. Called for His purpose… called to salvation is called to serve the Lord and being Chosen is a different thing.

For example: Moses was married with children and had been gone from Egypt for 40 years when God came to him in a vision. God chose him to return to Egypt which was the furthest thing from Moses’s mind. He was not praying for God to send him to Egypt, in fact the Bible tells us he was telling God all the reason’s he would not make a good one to be sent. Moses was definitely chosen for that task.

Another example is Saul who was with troops on his way to kill more Christians when God chose Him…he was blinded by the light and a process was started in Saul’s vision. The troops were frozen with fear and saw the light but none of them heard or saw the vision given to Saul. Saul was given a new name Paul. And he was chosen to serve God.

Now the two differences in these chosen ones is night and day. Moses knew from his family in Egypt and his father in law the ways of God; where Saul thought he knew the ways of God from the Temple teachings and believed not on Yeshua and felt he was a heretic and all his followers should be stopped, arrested or slain. Saul was not pursuing to serve the Lord and be a follower of the way of Yeshua. Far from it. The Lord chose to use him for His purpose. You see, God’s ways are not man’s ways.

image 227

Now in the days of the Prophets, the Holy Spirit was not given freely to all who believe for the Lord had not yet come as a sacrifice for all sin, of which the temple practices and burnt offerings all represented the coming of the Messiah as the ultimate sacrifice once and for all. Read all of the book of Hebrews. HEBREWS CHAPTER 1 KJV (kingjamesbibleonline.org)

But there was always a way to connect to God and few understood their gifts of dreams and visions that were seen as warnings of things to come and would seek others to tell them what these things meant. They called on God to explain their dreams amd visions with fasting and prayer. Sometimes God spoke to them and sometimes He sent angels to explain their visions. Joseph the son of Jacob was given the gift of interpreting dreams. He would pray to God and connect as one and God would give him the interpretation. The false prophets did their part in interpreting and often it would fail for it was more like guessing based on current events, and even the Pharaoh of Egypt had sorcerers to interpret his dreams and visions based on the judgements they were seeking in their pineal gland third eye. It is this process where the one you serve connects with you.

Whether you have chosen to serve Satan and have him be your Father or God and have Him be your Father. Your free will makes that decision. So those who say I am not going to mess with learning how to think, feel and choose to see any visions and or direction, would fall into the category of those who are neither cold nor hot and are lukewarm in Revelation 3 when Yeshua spoke of the church of Laodocia. He won’t connect with them and he will spit them out of his mouth…which His mouth is where His mighty Word comes forth from.

image 226

So we all must choose who it is we shall follow, be it the Lord God or Satan who is the ruler of this world and why we have this flesh box we are racing around in. So to think you are safe by not knowing how the free will mind process works by not seeking to understand it, is pretty much leaving yourself open to all manner of doctrine and believing lies. We have now learned how manmade interpretations have set us up to believe and do things that are not good for us. We are bombarded with lie after lie after lie and our Lord told us that Satan was a liar and the Father of it. He told the Pharisees and priests that their father was Satan and they did the works of their father.

He didn’t soft pedal the truth, he came right out and told them.

That being said, let us take a look at the Gospel of Mary Magdalene with new eyes and see how the words indeed align with Thomas and what the Lord said in the Aramaic Peshitta.

Gospel of Mary Magdalene

Pages 1 to 6 of the manuscript, containing chapters 1-3, are lost. The extant text starts on page 7…) . . . Will matter then be destroyed or not?

22) The Savior said, All nature, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved again into their own roots.

23) For the nature of matter is resolved into the roots of its own nature alone.

24) He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

25) Peter said to him, Since you have explained everything to us, tell us this also: What is the sin of the world?

26) The Savior said There is no sin, but it is you who make sin when you do the things that are like the nature of adultery, which is called sin.

27) That is why the Good came into your midst, to the essence of every nature in order to restore it to its root. (the good Yeshua is speaking of is Himself, the Light of God.)

28) Then He continued and said, That is why you become sick and die, for you are deprived of the one who can heal you.

29) He who has a mind to understand, let him understand.

30) Matter gave birth to a passion that has no equal, which proceeded from something contrary to nature. Then there arises a disturbance in its whole body.

31) That is why I said to you, Be of good courage, and if you are discouraged be encouraged in the presence of the different forms of nature.

32) He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

33) When the Blessed One had said this, He greeted them all, saying, Peace be with you. Receive my peace unto yourselves.

34) Beware that no one lead you astray saying Lo here or lo there! For the Son of Man is within you.

35) Follow after Him!

36) Those who seek Him will find Him.

37) Go then and preach the gospel of the Kingdom. (Gospel means good news that Yeshua has risen.)

38) Do not lay down any rules beyond what I appointed you, and do not give a law like the lawgiver lest you be constrained by it.

39) When He said this He departed.

Chapter 5

1) But they were grieved. They wept greatly, saying, How shall we go to the Gentiles and preach the gospel of the Kingdom of the Son of Man? If they did not spare Him, how will they spare us?

2) Then Mary stood up, greeted them all, and said to her brethren, Do not weep and do not grieve nor be irresolute, for His grace will be entirely with you and will protect you.

3) But rather, let us praise His greatness, for He has prepared us and made us into Men. (Meaning one purpose. Equal)

4) When Mary said this, she turned their hearts to the Good, and they began to discuss the words of the Savior.

5) Peter said to Mary, Sister we know that the Savior loved you more than the rest of woman. (Meaning as his help meet.)

6) Tell us the words of the Savior which you remember which you know, but we do not, nor have we heard them.

7) Mary answered and said, What is hidden from you I will proclaim to you.

8) And she began to speak to them these words: I, she said, I saw the Lord in a vision and I said to Him, Lord I saw you today in a vision. He answered and said to me,

9) Blessed are you that you did not waver at the sight of Me. For where the mind is there is the treasure.

10) I said to Him, Lord, how does he who sees the vision see it, through the soul or through the spirit?

11) The Savior answered and said, He does not see through the soul nor through the spirit, but the mind that is between the two that is what sees the vision and it is […]

It is up to each one to use it for good. It is our mind. It is our center of judgement…and where we process what we have chosen to believe. This process we have not looked at…because a process does not have a physical part that we can see….this is our mind process that connects us with God. We have free will to choose who we shall serve….that is a process of thinking, feeling and choosing that takes place in our brains and the pineal gland helps us discern. All the five senses feed into the brain….when we connect in prayer and oneness with God, he sends us the Holy Spirit to dwell in us to teach us, guide us, comfort us and give us truth and wisdom. The Lord dwells in us and us in Him because of this gift from the Father. There is no way we can come to the Father through any other means. God is the light. Other ways are counterfeits…they are of darkness. God is the light of the world and Jesus and God and the Spirit are one and with the gift of the Holy Spirit our Lord said we will be made one with the Father.

(pages 11-14 are missing from the manuscript)

Chapter 8

… it.

10) And desire said, I did not see you descending, but now I see you ascending. Why do you lie since you belong to me? (This sounds like a spiritual warfare battle of the mind… the lies we hear in our thoughts that have been instigated by others that we have chosen to believe or stress over of who we are. The thoughts without discernment. This one is with desire. And desire seems to have lost. The following verses are like the battle in temptations and what we choose to do with them with our free will.)

11) The soul answered and said, I saw you. You did not see me nor recognize me. I served you as a garment and you did not know me.

12) When it said this, it (the soul) went away rejoicing greatly.

13) Again it came to the third power, which is called ignorance.

14) The power questioned the soul, saying, Where are you going? In wickedness are you bound. But you are bound; do not judge!

15) And the soul said, Why do you judge me, although I have not judged?

16) I was bound, though I have not bound.

17) I was not recognized. But I have recognized that the All is being dissolved, both the earthly things and the heavenly. (The soul has seen the truth in God that all things will be disolved and a new heaven and a new earth is coming. Revelation 21:1-2 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.)

18) When the soul had overcome the third power, it went upwards and saw the fourth power, which took seven forms.

19) The first form is darkness, the second desire, the third ignorance, the fourth is the excitement of death, the fifth is the kingdom of the flesh, the sixth is the foolish wisdom of flesh, the seventh is the wrathful wisdom. These are the seven powers of wrath.

20) They asked the soul, Whence do you come slayer of men, or where are you going, conqueror of space?

21) The soul answered and said, What binds me has been slain, and what turns me about has been overcome,

22) and my desire has been ended, and ignorance has died.

23) In a aeon I was released from a world, and in a Type from a type, and from the fetter of oblivion which is transient.

24) From this time on will I attain to the rest of the time, of the season, of the aeon, in silence.

Chapter 9

1) When Mary had said this, she fell silent, since it was to this point that the Savior had spoken with her.

2) ) But Andrew answered and said to the brethren, Say what you wish to say about what she has said. I at least do not believe that the Savior said this. For certainly these teachings are strange ideas. (Yet, some of these things were later spoken of in Revelation when John wrote them much later on the Isle of Patmos. Mary had been given a vision above the rest. It was for her to know.

3) Peter answered and spoke concerning these same things.

4) He questioned them about the Savior: Did He really speak privately with a woman and not openly to us? Are we to turn about and all listen to her? Did He prefer her to us?

5) Then Mary wept and said to Peter, My brother Peter, what do you think? Do you think that I have thought this up myself in my heart, or that I am lying about the Savior? (For Mary to weep, Peter was obviously gruff in his mocking of her. She was disappointed in his unbelief, but moreso in the dishonoring of her words from her personal vision from the Lord. It is obvious he didn’t even try to discern it. It’s like she’s thinking, “You asked me what I was shown, and I share a personal and great vision that I cherish and was so beautiful to me and now you mock me as though I made it up. And you are supposed to be my friend in the ministry of the way.” Matthew 7:6 comes to mind. What are your thoughts on this?)

6) Levi answered and said to Peter, Peter you have always been hot tempered.

7) Now I see you contending against the woman like the adversaries. (This pretty much clarifies what took place. Now the same ones worried and weeping earlier about going out and teaching the nations all the new light way of the Lord because they didn’t think they’d be believed…and it they killed Yeshua, they will kill them…and Mary stood up and encouraged them…then the same one who said tell us what the Lord said to you…argues like the adversaries how he doesn’t believe it? That is bad.)

8) But if the Savior made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her? Surely the Savior knows her very well. (Made worthy to know the greater things…Boom!)

9) That is why He loved her more than us. (Is he saying because her faith was great or she was receiving of the light of truth and not afraid of it? ) Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man, and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said. (Thank you Levi, you said that well. Smile).

10) And when they heard this they began to go forth to proclaim and to preach.

There are many translations and many that have decided to fill in all the missing pages with their own ideas. And many interpretations. Be careful not to pick up missing page doctrines from those who decided they knew the visions and the missing pages. I have read some that are way, way off base and to stay consistant, they have had to alter words throughout that were fine as they were.

Ephesians 6:19-20

19And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
