From 2/6/2023: 4,300 people dead following a powerful earthquake and aftershocks that collapsed thousands of buildings! Death toll continues to rise as more bodies are being uncovered!
The initial magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit GAZIANTEP, Turkey at 4:17 a.m. local time on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey, and was also felt in Syria, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel and Lebanon. Hundreds of aftershocks, including an unusually strong 7.5 magnitude tremor, struck Turkey in the aftermath, the U.S.G.S. said. The series of shocks was the deadliest to hit the country in more than 20 years.
Developing story: Earlier today it was reported that there were 2,300 deaths in Turkey, and at least 1,444 in Syria! Those numbers are rising, now being confirmed that 4,300 have died so far. More than 13,000 people were injured in Turkey from the quake.
The US Geological Survey said the 7.8 magnitude tremor struck at 04:17 local time (01:17 GMT) at a depth of 17.9km (11 miles) near the city of Gaziantep.

The magnitude 7.8 quake brought down whole apartment blocks in Turkish cities and piled more devastation on millions of Syrians who were already displaced by years of civil war. The quake struck before sunrise and was followed in the early afternoon by another large quake. The freezing winter weather adding to the devastation of the vast numbers of those left injured or homeless, creating an added hardship on both survivors and rescue workers trying to find survivors.
Temperatures in some areas were expected to fall to near freezing overnight, worsening conditions for people trapped under rubble or left homeless. Rain fell on Monday after snowstorms swept the country over the weekend.
In the Turkish city of Iskenderun, a state hospital was reduced to a huge pile of debris rescuers climbed the enormous pile seeking survivors of what was once the hospital’s intensive care unit. Health workers are doing what they can to assist the injured patients.

In the midst of all of this Joey Avatar has told Zelensky he will not get his fighter jets. This could be a signal that finally it is time for him to shut up and sit down. I hope he understands that now is not the time to ask for any more billions so he can continue to steal, kill and destroy his own country while the world has their eyes on Turkey and Syria who have been devastated by an earthquake that has millions misplaced, thousands dead, and thousands more injured. Humanitarian aid is needed and if Zelensky has some billions stuffed in some of his coffers, perhaps someone can suggest for him to offer assistance to Turkey and Syria?
It appears Zelensky does have some means to help as Ukraine and Russia were among the countries that immediately pledged to send rescuers and other aid immediately after the news of the powerful earthquake striking Turkey and Syria in the early hours of February 6. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Kyiv stand ready to send a large group of rescue workers to Turkey even as it battles to repel invading Russian troops. “We are working closely with the Turkish side to coordinate their deployment,” Kuleba said on Twitter. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, also promising to send rescuers.
Remember, God has this entire world in his hands and in the end the wheat are gathered into His barn, and the tares are burned in the fire. There are children of the Lord scattered throughout the entire world and God has promised to gather them all. Hold on until I come… is what the Lord has said unto the churches.
