Why Did Ted Cruz Vote FOR The Patriot Act? And Why Is He Now Pushing Something New?

If you think Cruz is concerned about your safety and privacy…all you have to do is look at how he is running his campaign.  He has no respect for anyone’s privacy, not even the respect to leave personal cell numbers free from unwanted Cruz camp robo calls.  People have private numbers for a reason, but Cruz seems to be above all that.  After all, he has been anointed by his father to be ‘society’s new leader’ in the manner of the seven mountains.  Well, I, for one am not going on his mountain climbing journey.  Nor am I for his patriot act and any of his data mining spyware apps that he drools over.
For the record, Ted Cruz voted for the Patriot Act while Rand Paul didn’t.
I can not even imagine a regime of 7 mountains dictating and mandating what each citizen will do, believe, ascribe to or be condemned to hell for resisting.
Presently Cruz is sponsoring a new bill – I’m sure after watching his presidential campaign run – everyone will trust it….NOT!  Reading all the fine print and overlapping double talk is crucial at this point.  For all roads lead to a north American Rome at this point in the game.
Excerpts from article from “The Hill”:
“The USA Freedom Act of 2015 strikes the right balance by ending the National Security Agency’s unfettered data collection program and implementing other surveillance reforms, while at the same time preserving the government’s ability to obtain information to track down terrorists when it has sufficient justification and support for doing so,” Cruz.
The statement makes Cruz unique among GOP contenders for the White House in 2016.
While Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) — the Republican Party’s most prominent libertarian voice — has previously pledged to oppose any bill to extend the post-9/11 national security law, others such as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) have endorsed the spying powers wholeheartedly and scolded those who would seek to rein them in.
By backing a bill to reform the NSA’s powers while also extending the law, Cruz is placing himself squarely in the middle between the hawks and civil libertarians in the race for the White House.”
