Ted's Town Hall Crumbles After Telling Vets To Sell Cookies For Funding!

Vet’s give Cruz  backlash after telling them to sell girl scout cookies for funding. The story is satire but fun.

I decided not to back down.  This IS SATIRE AND IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT – YOU DON’T HAVE TO READ IT.  This has been viral on the internet since May 2015 – go shut all of them down.  Tell them all to take it down. Start with the link below.  Thank you.
A while back at a town hall event in Des Moines, Iowa Ted Cruz spoke to a crowd of 200 or so likely voters.  An Iraq War veteran named Dan with a prosthetic leg, asked Cruz what his administration would do to help veterans and how his proposed tax cuts would affect the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Ted answered, “We need to be innovative if we want to help veterans. We need to be practical and pragmatic. But we also need to remain vigilant with our government’s out-of-control spending, and find ways of mitigating expenses wherever possible. So we need a president whose willing to tackle the hard issues, and come up with innovative solutions to these problems, head-on.”
The next attendee to ask a question named Sally, was also a veteran. She asked Cruz specifically to clarify what he planned to do as president to help veterans while also balancing the Federal budget.   His answer would be funny if he wasn’t so serious.
Ted spoke with all sincerity and with one of those “bit of maniac” moments Trump had criticized Ted of having in the senate.  “We need to make spending cuts that not everyone will be happy with, but we need to come up with solutions that make up for those cuts, too. For instance — and I’m just thinking out loud here — but the Girl Scouts make a lot of money selling cookies each year, and it brings attention to their cause. We’re talking billions and billions of dollars here. That’s an innovative idea right there, and I just came up with it on the spot. That’s what I want to bring to the White House.”
Ugh…I told you, no one can make this stuff up.  And to think he was proud of thinking that up right there on the spot.  Oh my head hurts.  Cruz is Trump’s political campaign gift that just keeps on giving.  I’ve decided Trump doesn’t need to counter punch Cruz.  All he has to do is stand back and watch in disbelief like the 200 or so attendees at his town hall.  He will self destruct on his own.
As the vets looked at Cruz in disbelief, he kept on talking.  “Something like that, selling cookies, would generate billions of dollars for veterans while also connecting them with their friends and neighbors in a new and innovative way,”
That sure sounds like a nice way of saying – you are on your own.  Go peddle cookies to your friends and neighbors.  So, that is what Cruz will bring to the vets when he’s in the White House.  Yep, that is what he said.
Later, Cruz continued to stick his foot in his mouth as he answered another persons question and elaborated, on the veteran cookie sales,  “Think about the opportunities these veterans would be exposed to. Think about the potential of meeting a new employer, for instance. This idea would raise billions of dollars for vets each year, gives veterans the sort of public attention they deserve, and could open new doors for our nation’s bravest fighting men and women. This would be a golden opportunity for veterans, and for America.”
All I can say at this point is, man oh man if you are a veteran and are concerned about veteran issues I’d be looking at Trump to be my next president. Cruz obviously has shown another reason why veterans have been lost in the senate.  I’m sure Cruz has a cookie bill ready to bring to the table at the right time.  Something he is willing to filibuster over.  He’ll even throw in the bonus option of selling children’s books like The Cat In The Hat’s Green Eggs and Ham.
