Of Trees and Their Fruit

And the Lord came speaking in metaphors and parables of Trees and Fruit…why is that?

And the Lord said, “Come…follow me. I am the truth, the way and the life!”

Luke 23:31 Context

28But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 29For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. 30Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. 31For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? 32And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. 33And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

What was the Lord speaking of when he said “For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?”

Does it have anything to do with the roots of the tree? The branches of the tree? What is this tree? It is said the Lord was referring to Himself as the green tree which bears fruit and is Holy, and if they will crucify Him who is innocent and Holy … what will they do to a tree that is dry…with sin?

Why did Jesus call Himself a tree at all? There are many scriptures that refer to trees, I will list a few here and it is always more sure to read the scripture in its’ fullness to see the greater meaning. So I encourage you to look these up. For the trees have great significance.

Judges: 9:8 The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign over us.

Ponder this a moment… do you think literal trees went walking about looking to have an Olive tree rule them? Or is this a metaphor? I have seen and heard some who are now taking Biblical metaphors and holding them as literal words trying to make prophets, and God look bad, especially when it comes to tree of knowledge and tree of life.

Jeremiah 17:7-8: 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

1 Chronicles 16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

Psalms 1:3 – And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Job 14:7 – For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

Daniel 4:10-12 – Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

Matthew 7:17 – Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Revelation 22:2 – In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

They ate of the fruit of the tree… the fruit of the tree is the works of the tree. All the trees in the garden produced good fruit, good works except one… that tree produced the opposite fruit of the fruits of God which are Holy and Good. That tree produced discord, confusion, lies, anger, fear, frustration, fornification, destruction and led to death and hell. The Lord said a good tree bears good fruit. He spoke of both the tree of life which is himself and the tree of good and evil which is the serpent/shining one, Satan, the Devil, Serpent, Lucifer, Leviathan, the Dragon… are all names given to identify the shining serpent ones. You will know them by their fruit. What fruit did Adam and Eve partake of? What tree? Metaphorically it was the of the tree that bore bad fruit representing evil works called in the Bible the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Whereas the tree of life was pure and Holy and bore only good fruit, good works of the Father God.

Good Tree, Bad TreePreparing The Way

The Lord said he is the truth, the way, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:8

So that is enough to show that when the Bible is referring to trees, the message is a metaphor referring to a person or persons. Be not deceived by those who have complicated the Word of God.

Look at the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Is this a literal tree or a shining one who has access to the garden? The same with the tree of life in the same garden. Is this a tree or a literal being that gives life eternal?

One tree leads to death and destruction, the other tree leads to life eternal. Who are these trees? One tree is of all that is good and God’s love. There is no hate, anger, jealousy, fear, sickness, war, destruction, stress, there is no negative forces in God’s love and goodness. There is praising, joy, love and eternal life. You are a shining glory to God in the garden of Eden where you have been placed for protection out of God’s love for you, his creation that he loves.

Then there is one tree that God has forbidden. Adam and Eve were not to partake of it. That tree is evil because it presents the opposite of what is good. To do what it does and wants you to do causes you to stray away from what is good and what the tree of life has. It opens up a path of destruction that bears bad fruit (works) for the works of that tree are not Holy to The Lord. That tree has boastful, prideful ideas that lead to things opposite of God and God’s commandments for you.

For God knows the day you dabble in the thoughts of evil you will be easily brain washed into believing lies. A wicked tree shows you how to do the works of your own eyes and not the eyes of God. These works are fruits of destruction that kill, steal, and destroy the life in you.

God is Good and has no place for what is evil. God created Adam and Eve in His image not in the image of the shining rebellious ones called the serpents. Evil is not welcome to enter into the garden. There is a big fat NO TRESPASSING SIGN there, a big DO NOT ENTER sign… for if you do the works from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you find yourself doing things that are not HOLY TO THE LORD. The fruit that is produced from evil works are AGAINST THE WAYS AND COMMANDS OF GOD.

Remember, this serpent/shining one (tree) that entered into the Garden of Eden – that is Holy Ground to the Lord had already had a war in heaven and been cast to the earth with all who rebelled. And now this one has entered into God’s Garden that has a gate of separation to protect it from what is going on in the earth itself.

The garden of Eden also has a tree of life which now points to being God’s Son, Our Lord and savior, the GREEN TREE THAT IS HOLY AND THE WAY, AND THE TRUTH TO EVERLASTING LIFE.

In Genesis chapter 3, the Bible tells us God calls for Adam and Adam is hiding. God already knows what took place, he is all knowing. Does it not make sense that now Adam’s mind is knowing what he did wrong because he is no longer feeling the same and his heart is heavy with guilt for he now has his head filled with lies and emotions he never felt before. He knows he is not the same as he was before he looks at his animal flesh and weeps. He is ashamed for now he is filled with opposite feelings than the ones he had before he partook in the knowledge he was fed and now his mind is racing. Eve has told him the things the shining serpent told her and now they are both confused, fearful, ridden with guilt and lost and alone for they believe they are unworthy and are ashamed and both of them are now hiding from the presence of God.

But God took pity on Adam and Eve and gave them a way back to Paradise. God has always had a plan from the beginning to the very end.

1 Chronicles 16:33 – Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.
